Over the next 10 years, Ameren Illinois plans to deploy approximately 780,000 advanced electric meters. Advanced electric meters - sometimes called "smart" meters - allow for fast, two-way communication.
The advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) initiative is a key element of the Ameren Illinois Modernization Action Plan (MAP).
