The Missouri Clean Energy Challenge is a statewide business competition for early-stage companies and college students. The purpose of the program is to boost the commercialization of clean technology research and development within Missouri's universities and educate a class of entrepreneurs about the technology commercialization.

Material Mix, a St. Louis-based company, is the recipient of the $10,000 Ameren Clean Energy Innovation Award and winner of the Missouri Clean Energy Challenge.

Material Mix features software that commoditizes the trade of reusable materials within the current waste collection industry. Businesses may choose materials that meet their specific needs. This business model provides a solution to businesses with an excess of undervalued, reusable byproducts as well as businesses seeking materials for their own production purposes.
