Ameren Lights Up Holiday Displays and Brightens the Lives of Children

Ameren has lit up both sides of the Mississippi River for the holidays, supporting two longstanding charities in the bi-state area. Visitors to the Shrine of our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Ill., and patients at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis will enjoy beautiful Christmas light displays at both locations, thanks to Ameren’s generous donation of $65,000 to support both charities.

The Way of Lights at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows opened Nov. 16 in partnership with the medical center. Ron Pate, VP, Operations and Technical Support, Ameren Illinois, and Sherlyn Hailstone, president, SSM Cardinal Glennon, flipped the switch in Belleville. An extension of the partnership was the inaugural holiday lighting of SSM Cardinal Glennon, Nov. 19. Tom Voss, chairman, president and CEO, Ameren, helped flip the switch with Hailstone Board of Governors member Jim Brennan and Dan Buck, executive director of the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation, surrounded by patients, doctors, nurses and caregivers.

More than 3,000 strands of lights were donated by Ameren, bringing joy to the lives of children this holiday season. Proceeds from Way of Lights will support both Catholic charities coming together this holiday season.
