Ameren Missouri recently pledged to donate $2 million to the Dollar More program. Dollar More provides energy assistance funding to 39 agencies, including the United Way. It is designed to help individuals, families and the elderly in the community pay their energy bill.
In addition to Ameren Missouri's donation to Dollar More, Ameren Missouri has also donated $600,000 in energy assistance funding to several other agencies throughout St. Louis city and county.
In June and July, Ameren Missouri also donated $200,000 to Missouri military families in need of energy assistance and 600 air conditioners (valued at $100,000) to Missouri agencies. Those agencies then distributed the units to low-income individuals and families, elderly and disabled customers in Ameren Missouri's service area.
Ameren Missouri customers who want to support the program can check the Dollar More box on their bill. One dollar will then be added to their monthly bill to help fund the program. The United Way of Greater St. Louis and Ameren Missouri share the administrative costs for the program which allows 100% of all donations to benefit people in need.
