Procedures for Abandoned Property Inquiries

Each year, Ameren Corporation is required to forward funds that have gone unclaimed for five years to the applicable state holding agencies. These unclaimed funds, otherwise know as "abandoned," may include dividend checks, customer deposits and other uncashed checks.

Ameren makes a good-faith effort to find the owners of this property by sending a search letter to the owner's last known address. If the owner cannot be located, or does not respond, the funds are forwarded the state of the last known address after the five-year holding period. Most states will then publish the owner's name on their websites and await contact.

To protect the privacy of our customers, their heirs and assignees, Ameren cannot list names and addresses of property owners on our site. However, if you believe that Ameren Corporation is holding property that belongs to you, please contact us prior to the expiration of the five-year waiting period by calling 314.554.4405.

If more than five years have elapsed, you can search applicable unclaimed property websites to find property that has been forwarded to a particular state on the basis of its "last known address."
