AmerenUE now offers Pure Power—a voluntary renewable energy program. Customers can sign up by checking the Pure Power box on their bills, by calling 866.665.PURE (7873), or by submitting the online Pure Power form.
By choosing Pure Power, customers support renewable energy development through the purchase of certified renewable energy certificates (RECs). Participating residential customers can choose to pay an additional 1.5 cents per kilowatthour (kWh) for power used—or for a typical household about $15 more monthly. Medium and large business customers can participate by purchasing 1,000 kWh “blocks” of Pure Power for $15 per block. More>>
AmerenUE does not profit from the program, and customers can stop participating at anytime with no penalty. The program is Green-eŽ Certified by The Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), a national nonprofit organization that works to build a robust renewable energy market and increase consumer awareness of renewables.
