Ameren is proud of its long history of hiring military veterans, who are interested in working for one of the largest utilities in the Midwest. Being a military veteran myself, I know that the transition to civilian life can sometimes be difficult. But often those with military experience have the skills for specific positions needed in the utility industry.
Ameren’s military recruiting strategy includes conducting or attending nationwide events, from base visits to career fairs. Ameren also uses multiple online resources to reach out to veterans. In addition, we provide security and support to our employed reservists and their families, through continued benefits when they are called to active duty.
Because of our offerings, we were recently named a Top 100 military-friendly employer by G.I. Jobs, a nationally-recognized magazine that helps provide training and career opportunities for veterans.
Nearly 600 of Ameren’s 9,500 active employees have served in the military, with 9% of those employees hired within the past year. I would like to acknowledge the strength and bravery of all veterans throughout our company.
