Ameren employees are involved in the neighborhoods and communities where they live. They volunteer and participate in programs and events to enrich others and to learn more about their neighbors and co-workers.
Some recent activities include:
- Disability Mentoring Day
Ameren's Disabilities in the Workplace Network (DAWN) employee resource group hosts an annual Disability Mentoring Day at Ameren Missouri. This event gives high school students with disabilities the opportunity to job shadow employees that reflect students' interests. The program builds relationships, encourages continuing education, promotes career development and gives students an exposure to an unfamiliar work environment. This provides students an idea of careers that may be of future interest.
- Easter Seals
Ameren's Women Influencing Success in Energy (WISE) employee resource group coordinated volunteers to help the Easter Seals Society. Easter Seals is a non-profit organization that provides programs that help people living with autism and other disabilities to live, learn, work and play in our community.
"We are grateful to the many volunteers, including those from Ameren, that donate their time to help non-profit organizations,” said Steven Thompson, president of the Easter Seals Society in Decatur, Ill. “And the children and families that use our services are certainly grateful as well.”
- Hispanic Festival
Members of Ameren's Network of Minority Employees (ANME) participated in the Hispanic Festival, Inc. of Greater St. Louis' Fiesta in Florissant, Mo. Ameren's booth displayed an electric vehicle and gave visitors information on energy efficiency programs, customer service, payment options and assistance.
- Ameren presenting sponsor for Doorways - Interfaith AIDS Housing and Services
Ameren was the presenting sponsor for the Doorways - Interfaith AIDS Housing and Services' Annual Red Event. Members of Ameren's Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender Employees and Allies Network (GLEAN) employee resource group volunteered at the event. Doorways is an interfaith agency providing affordable, secure housing and related supportive services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
