Ameren Environmental Community Initiatives

We live and work in the same neighborhoods as you do. And, we share the same concerns regarding the environment. That's why we're committed to providing safe, reliable energy efficiently and in an environmentally responsible way to our customers.

We work with a range of local, state and federal organizations to support environmental initiatives in neighborhoods and communities across our 64,000-square-mile territory.

The first step in preserving our community is taken by increasing the efficiency of our energy use so that resources are not wasted. Visit Act on Energy to learn more about how to use energy more efficiently.

Modeled after the Missouri Department of Transportation’s “Adopt-a-Highway” program, Ameren Missouri’s Adopt-the-Shoreline program at Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks enables interested groups and individuals to “adopt” portions of shoreline for litter control.

Ameren has been a significant supporter of Forest Park Forever, a private, non-profit, organization to work in partnership with the city of St. Louis and the Department of Parks. We have donated more than $660,000 to the organization’s ongoing initiative to maintain Forest Park as a premier urban park.

Ameren has created a range of programs to preserve wildlife and educate future generations.

Always a main sponsor of the annual Earth Day Festival, Ameren takes the opportunity to exhibit demonstrations related to energy and the environment.

Ameren has contributed $25,000 annually to Forest ReLeaf of Missouri to help sponsor Project CommuniTree, a pioneer nursery operation that grows trees for planting on public property and on land owned by nonprofit organizations.

Sponsored by The National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters, the Tree Line USA program honors utilities that have a strong record of quality tree care, annual worker training and tree planting and public education.

Our voluntary Pure Power program makes it easy for residents and businesses to achieve the goal we all have in common: Preserve and protect the world we live in.
