Heat stroke is the most serious of all heat illnesses. Symptoms include a 103-degree or higher body temperature, a lack of sweat, hot, red dry skin, a rapid pulse, difficulty breathing and constricted pupils. You can suffer from headaches, confusion, nausea, dizziness, or a rapid and strong pulse.
Anyone experiencing those symptoms should call 911.
Until help arrives, wrap yourself or the victim in wet blankets or clothes or immerse yourself or the victim in cool water. Pour water over your body. Use ice.

Heat cramps can hit you especially if you are working in the heat. When you sweat a lot, you lose electrolytes—leading to cramping. These muscle spasms usually hit the arms, legs or stomach a few hours after being in hot sticky weather. Drink lots of water. Replace the electrolytes with a replenishing drink, limit your salt intake—get some rest.
