Taum Sauk Updates – Project Enhancements

Whistle Stop Depot

The not-for-profit organization Our Town Tomorrow received a $20,000 grant to renovate the Whistle Stop Depot for use as a Visitor's Center and Historical Museum. The organization is one of 24 projects sharing $5 million in funds authorized by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for enhancements at or near the company’s Taum Sauk Plant—part of AmerenUE’s stipulation and settlement with FERC.

The historical museum features artifacts and décor that reflect the areas unique combination of early American and Native American history.
