On that day, all of the former AmerenCIPS plants and Illinois combustion turbine projects transferred to the generating company. In third quarter 2001, the addition of four 36-megawatt units to the Pinckneyville, Ill. site (shown here), along with a new, 234-magawatt Kinmundy, Ill. project, represented almost half the approximately 820 megawatts of new generation the company added in 2001.
