Caulking Overview
For Electric & Natural Gas Customers

Stopping drafts to help hold the heat in your home during the winter and keeping the heat out in the summer will save you natural gas and electricity, lowering your utility bill. Caulk forms a flexible seal for cracks, gaps, or joints less than 1-quarter-inch wide.

Use a caulking compound to seal air leaks in a variety of places throughout your home, including around windows and door frames. And don’t forget to caulk outside of the home around water faucets, phone and cable wires, and also your dryer vent. Closing off these air leaks will not only save energy but help keep spiders and other insects from coming in.
