Walk in Cooler Overview

 For Electric Customers

A typical refrigeration system's compressor is one of the largest electric energy consumers. Even in winter months, a refrigeration compressor could run up to 50% of the time. Checking the motor efficiency routinely or even upgrading aging equipment can provide substantial energy saving opportunities.

Another way to save energy is to check the joints of your cooler walls where they meet the floor and the ceiling. Gaps in these areas allow cool air to escape and cause your compressor to run longer to make up for the cooling loss. Also check the wall panel sides and corners - any gaps here will also allow cool air to escape, causing more run time and wasted electricity.
