Location: The energy center is located 10 miles southeast of Fulton, Missouri, in Callaway County; 25 miles northeast of Jefferson City, Missouri; 40 miles southeast of Columbia, Missouri; 100 miles west of St. Louis, Missouri; and 120 miles east of Kansas City, Missouri.

Owner: Ameren Missouri (formerly known as Union Electric Company) owns and operates Callaway Energy Center, the only energy center on the Ameren system that generates electricity by nuclear energy.
  
Design: Standardized Nuclear Unit Power Plant System (SNUPPS), using a Westinghouse four-loop pressurized reactor and an Alstom turbine - General Electric generator.

Workforce: More than 1,000 Ameren Missouri employees and contractors work at the facility with a total annual payroll of approximately $100 million.
 
Economic Benefit: On average, the facility accounts for about $10 million of Ameren Missouri’s annual property taxes paid to Callaway County, with about $7 million of that amount going to local schools. In addition, assessed values based on Ameren Missouri’s investment in the energy center typically result in an additional $23.5 million in taxes shared by the remaining 66 Missouri counties where the company has facilities.
