The Ameren Illinois Utilities (AIU) is a regulated utility, headquartered in Peoria, Illinois. It has three operating companies, AmerenCIPS, AmerenCILCO, and AmerenIP. We deliver electricity and natural gas to customers in central and southern Illinois. Together, AIU represent one of three corporate business segments of Ameren Corporation, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.
You depend on the energy we deliver at home and at work. We work hard every day to deliver safe, reliable energy that supports your way of life. Over the past three years, AIU has installed about 36,000 new utility poles, about 24,000 miles of electrical wire, and 327 miles of natural gas pipe. We have built new and improved existing electrical substations and replaced aging delivery-system equipment. We have established a mobile Emergency Operations Center and placed Storm Trailers in service when needed for more timely restoration response.
