What is the Ameren Missouri Military Energy Assistance program?
Ameren Missouri, working with the Missouri National Guard, will award up to $200,000 in energy credits to military families in need from all branches of the military.
How much aid can I receive?
Aid will be in the form of a one-time, $500 credit applied to the family's Ameren Missouri utility bill. No cash refunds will be permitted. Limit to one credit per utility account.
Who is eligible?
<ul><li>Eligible families must be Ameren Missouri electric and/or natural gas customers from anywhere in the company's 63-county service area.</li> <li>The applicant must submit a copy of his/her home of record address, Ameren Missouri account number, name on the account, current address, and a statement verifying he/she is a member of the U.S. Military in good standing.</li> <li>The family must demonstrate a valid financial assistance need.</li> </ul>
How do I apply for aid?
To apply for the grant, the Ameren Missouri account holder or his or her spouse must contact the Missouri National Guard Family Program Office at 573.638.9500, ext. 76817. Their staff will provide further information and application details, as well as assist with the application process.
Who will screen the applicants?
The Missouri National Guard Family Program Office, located in Jefferson City, will screen all applicants.
What documents will I need to apply?
The applicant must be prepared to submit: <ul><li>a copy of his/her home of record address</li> <li>Ameren Missouri account number with the name on the account</li> <li>current address</li> <li>a statement verifying that the U.S. Military member is in good standing</li><ul>
How long will the program be available?
The program will be in effect from July 2, until Dec. 31, 2012, or until the $200,000 is depleted.
Are ratepayers paying for this?
No. The program will be funded by corporate contributions from shareholder funds that are not recovered through Ameren Missouri's electric or natural gas rates.
