Combustion Turbine Generators (CTGs)

 

In a combustion turbine generator (CTG), air is drawn in, compressed, mixed with natural gas and ignited. As the gas burns at about 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit, it expands, creating the energy that drives the turbine - as much as 3,600 revolutions per minute.
