In 2009, the plant accounted for $9.7 million of UE’s property taxes paid to Callaway County, with nearly $6 million of that amount going to local schools. In addition, assessed values based on UE’s investment in the plant resulted in about $20 million in additional taxes shared by the remaining 66 Missouri counties where the company has facilities.
