Job responsibilities include:

 

Test, calibrate and repair protective relaying, SCADA, and metering systems in substations and power plants

 

Perform commission testing on metering and on relaying and associated control systems in new and/or modified substations and power plants

 

Install, remove, and maintain high voltage substation equipment including circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, voltage regulators, and disconnect switches

 

Construct and install substation steel structures, pipe work, cubicles or cell structures, and perform other substation mechanical and structural work

 

Perform wiring of relaying and control panels

 

Perform emergency troubleshooting and restoration of all equipment listed above

       

Training for Skilled Craft Positions at Ameren

 

Ameren offers advanced training that builds upon what you learned in school. You receive hands-on experience with specific systems and equipment in the Ameren system.
  
Because Ameren needs skilled craft employees who already have fundamental skills and knowledge, successful applicants must pass a written test and a performance skills test.
