Ameren's Power to 50 Project
Thanks to the Ameren PowerKids program, 48 power wheelchairs have been donated in the past decade to Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis - an organization that provides vital medical equipment, as well as educational, therapeutic and recreational programs to children with physical or developmental disabilities.

The PowerKids program purchases power wheelchairs for Variety kids. The chairs are not only a means of transportation, they also help overcome physical challenges and achieve independence.

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Ameren’s partnership, the company began the Power to 50 project, challenging employees to raise the number to 50 by donating $30,000 for the purchase of two new chairs. (Play video on right.)

"I am so pleased with the Power to 50 project because of what these power chairs mean to the families, and the awareness gained among our Ameren family whose work for the betterment of our community is so vital," says Jan Albus, CEO, Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis.
