Construction Update

In May 2018, ATXI's contractors began construction of the Mark Twain Transmission Project. The construction process includes building the new Zachary Substation in Adair County, installation of access roads from nearby public roadways, and digging and pouring concrete foundations. Our line construction process is completed in the following phases:

Survey work and foundation line construction is currently being performed along sections in all five counties where the transmission line is located. As our construction crews continue to create access points to the corridor, install foundations, assemble and set structures, vegetation management will begin to clear the transmission corridor in November 2018. Real estate discussions also continue throughout the project area while construction progresses.

Construction activities primarily take place during daylight hours, but some work may be completed after dusk. Additionally, our contractors may travel to and from the job site before dawn or after dusk. Affected landowners, who have signed an easement with ATXI, will be contacted in person, by phone and/or in writing at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of construction on their property.

We understand survey work and construction comes with added traffic, noise, lights and other activities. ATXI and our partners will make every effort to minimize these impacts.
