Construction Update

ATXI is pleased to announce construction of the Zachary Substation and the transmission lines from Kirksville to the Iowa border is now complete. These components, which are part of the Mark Twain Transmission Project, were energized on June 30, 2019. ATXI would like to thank property owners in Adair and Schuyler counties for working with us to reach this important milestone.

While construction is complete in this area, ATXI will continue working for several months to complete tasks including cleanup, moving materials and equipment and restoring properties in consultation with impacted property owners. ATXI will also be working with county officials to finalize any required road repairs.

ATXI has begun construction on the remaining transmission line segments between Palmyra and Kirksville. This work will take place in Marion, Lewis, Knox and Adair counties.

Construction activities primarily take place during daylight hours, but some work may be completed after dusk. Additionally, our contractors may travel to and from the job site before dawn or after dusk. Affected landowners, who have signed an easement with ATXI, will be contacted in person, by phone and/or in writing at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of construction on their property.

We understand survey work and construction comes with added traffic, noise, lights and other activities. ATXI and our partners will make every effort to minimize these impacts. For questions or concerns about real estate, survey work or construction, please contact Contract Land Staff (CLS) agents at 1.877.830.3440.
