Ameren Missouri has been providing power services for more than 100 years and serves 1.2 million customers with a diverse mix of reliable generating capacity.  

Wholesale Power - we supply capacity, energy and ancillary services to meet load requirements and offer additional services for planning reserves, energy management and RTO/ISO charges. 

Energy Trading - our short and long-term desks monitor and respond to market conditions to manage our customers' exposure to price volatility. 

Generation Resource Planning - we implement strategies to manage our assets so we can meet our customers' needs now and in the future. It is essential to our mission: To Power the Quality of Life.

Ameren Missouri Wholesale offers a variety of energy products and services to meet the customer's need.  Our trading professionals use the latest market intelligence, pricing data, and analytical tools to offer competitively priced reliable energy products. In addition to native load, our customers include utilities, municipalities, electric cooperatives and industrial manufacturers.  
Our Market Origination group customizes long term service agreements (one year and longer).  
We market a diverse mix of approximately 10,000 megawatts of generating capacity (nuclear, coal, gas, wind, hydro, pump storage, renewable).  
We are a member of the Midcontinent Independent Transmission System Operator (Midcontinent ISO) with interconnections that give us access to other energy markets within PJM, SPP and SERC. View the Energy Markets page for further detail.

Ameren Missouri offers power solutions from hourly up to five years forward in the RTOs of MISO, PJM, and SPP, as well as SERC Reliability Council territory.

  • The Midcontinent ISO region covers power transmission in all or parts of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
  • The PJM Interconnection (Pennsylvania, Jersey, Maryland Power Pool) region covers power transmission in all or parts of Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
  • The SPP (Southwest Power Pool) region covers power transmission in all or parts of Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
  • The SERC (Southeastern Electric Reliability Corporation) region covers all or parts of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Andrew Meyer

Director, Ameren Missouri Energy Management & Trading

Andrew Meyer is director of Energy Management & Trading  for Ameren Missouri. Meyer joined Ameren's independent marketing affiliate in 1999. These functions were assumed by Ameren Missouri, where he has worked in several different capacities on the trade floor and in RTO stakeholder relations. In his current position, Meyer is responsible for energy trading, financial hedging, real-time power operations, and the procurement and transportation of all coal, nuclear fuel, natural gas, and fuel oil for the Ameren Missouri generation fleet. In addition to overseeing these activities, Meyer also creates and implements generation hedging strategy, budgets, and trading portfolios.

Meyer earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration (Management Emphasis) and Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri - Columbia. He was employed by Continental Grain Co. prior to joining Ameren.
