healthcare
Healthcare, Medical and Dental

Healthcare facilities such as medical offices, hospitals, assisted living, and rehabilitation centers use vast amounts of energy to power their buildings and meet local code requirements. Because these types of facilities use so much energy, they can also save significantly by installing energy efficiency measures that cut back on the amount of energy used within the organization. Ameren Missouri's BizSavers® program has incentives for many types of energy efficiency upgrades.

Popular Efficiency Measures

Lighting

Healthcare facilities can replace inefficient lighting like metal halides and T-12 fluorescent lighting with more efficient T-8s or T-5s, HID lighting, and LEDs. Occupancy sensors are also valuable money-saving upgrades that are eligible for cash incentives.

Motor Controls/VFDs
Motor controls/variable frequency drives (VFDs) are a great energy-saving measure for medical offices, hospitals, and nursing facilities. Installing VFDs on fixed-speed fans and pumps can save 10-50% in energy costs.

Whole Building Performance/Retro-Commissioning

Large buildings, such as hospitals and assisted living facilities, can be eligible for Retro-Commissioning (RCx) incentives to optimize building systems. RCx can save 15-25% in energy costs and has a project payback of 18 months or less.

Options to Save Energy and Earn Cash Incentives

standard
Standard Incentives
Incentives are paid on a per unit-installed basis and are available for a variety of qualified improvements. Projects that include all Standard measures do not require pre-approval unless the incentive is anticipated to be more than $10,000. For incentives of more than $10,000, please see Custom Incentives below. Eligibility for a Standard Incentive requires customers to install measures achieving a minimum total incentive of $150 per application. All Standard Incentive applications must be submitted within 180 days of equipment invoice date.

Get Started! Apply for a Standard Incentive now and receive an incentive check 45-60 days after completion paperwork is received.

New Construction Incentives
Starting from scratch or completing a renovation? Incentives are available through the New Construction program. These incentives must be pre-approved prior to the design phase of the project.

Whole Building Performance/Retro-Commissioning Incentives (RCx)
Retro-Commissioning (RCx) is the process of optimizing all the systems within your building and requires an extensive facility assessment to explore energy-saving opportunities. RCx is a good solution for large buildings. The BizSavers program pays $.02-.03 per kWh for the assessment (depending on size of the building), in addition to $.07 per kWh saved on all RCx projects.

Get Started! You must use a pre-approved RCx service provider (RSP), so contact an RSP to get started today.
