Home Energy Audit Improvements - Natural Gas Residential Rebate Program & Requirements

Residential Home Energy Audit Improvements

Rebates are available for the purchase and installation of specific gas-efficient equipment and building shell measures. These rebates are available for measures installed upon the recommendation of a qualified auditor performing a comprehensive energy audit at the home. Measures installed are eligible for only one rebate - either through the Residential Home Energy Audit suggested measure improvements or through the residential rebate program without an audit. You cannot receive two rebates for the same measure.

Eligible measure include: ceiling insulation, wall insulation, air sealing measures, duct sealing measures and hot water measure kit. See rebate form for eligible measures and rebate amounts.

Improvements eligible for this rebate are a result of a customer's completed 2017 or 2018 comprehensive energy analysis. A comprehensive blower door analysis must be performed during the energy analysis by a qualified auditor.

An analysis must have been performed on or after Jan. 1, 2017, and not later than Dec. 31, 2018, to be eligible in 2018.

Customer must submit a copy of the auditor's comprehensive energy analysis report along with receipts for products purchased in 2018. An auditor is a nationally recognized contractor, trained in natural gas equipment utilization systems, whether commercial and/or residential structures, as an integrated whole building system. Residential training, certification, and accreditation are provided by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and Residential Energy Services Network's (RESNET®). Commercial training and certification are provided by nationally-respected energy auditor certification organizations.

The rebate form must be submitted with all receipts for all eligible measures and the auditor's report. This rebate cannot be combined with other measures that are already offered under a different rebate category such as: ceiling insulation, hot water measure kit, etc.

  • Completed 2017-2019 rebate form or submit your rebate form online.
  • Receipts
  • Cost of labor, if any
  • Installer's signature
  • Copy of the auditor's comprehensive energy audit report
