In 2025, $11.2 million was awarded to communities in Ameren's Illinois & Missouri service territories.
Critical Needs
Ameren swiftly unlocked $1 million for tornado disaster relief, directing $500,000 to immediate community recovery through partners like United Way, the St. Louis Community Foundation, The Salvation Army, and the American Red Cross. An additional $250,000 supported boots-on-the-ground organizations through Community Impact Grants, and the final $250,000 advanced energy assistance support for affected residents.
Thriving Communities
Support for comprehensive community development organizations including Beyond Housing, Great Rivers Greenway, Little Bit Foundation, St. Joseph Housing Initiative, and Community Foundation of the Ozarks. More than 10,000 individuals and families benefited from community development, environmental, arts, and youth programming across the region.
Economic Empowerment
- Launched the Ameren STEM Academy in partnership with STLCC Florissant Valley Campus. Located in STLCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Center, the Ameren STEM Academy offers specialized, hands-on training in technical trades and in-demand STEM fields.
- Awarded ~$500,000 to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis to support job readiness, workforce pipelines, re-entry programming, family stabilization, and financial empowerment.
- Ameren Illinois’ $1M investment in the Jackie Joyner Kersee Foundation will support the foundation's new Food, Agriculture & Nutrition Innovation Center, featuring state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, greenhouses, community gardens and workforce training, along with STEM and Ag-Science education for K-12 students.
