Medical & Insurance

Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits

Ameren supplements a major portion of the cost for medical, dental and vision coverage for all full-time, regular co-workers and eligible dependents, starting on the first day of employment.

Life Insurance

Ameren provides co-workers with Basic life insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage. Most co-workers also have the option to purchase Supplemental Life and AD&D coverage for themselves and family members.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

Ameren offers medical plans that are HSA eligible. HSAs are a great way start planning for both current and future healthcare costs. Most co-workers who choose an HSA-eligible plan have the ability to make tax-favored contributions and also receive contributions from Ameren.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Ameren co-workers can choose to participate in FSA accounts each year - Dependent Care and/or Health Care. Co-workers contribute to the FSA on a pre-tax basis, reducing their taxable income. The accounts can be used to pay for qualified day care or healthcare expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Holidays, Vacations & Leaves

Paid Holidays, Vacation and Medical Leave

Co-workers receive paid holidays, as well as paid vacation time. Co-workers are also provided an allowance of medical and illness leave, which generally increases with a co-worker's length of service.

Family Caregiver Leave

All regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible for up to 80 hours of paid Family Caregiver Leave.

Parental Leave

Welcoming a child and growing your family is an exciting time. We offer support for parents through policies, programs and resources designed to assist you and your family. We provide up to six weeks of paid parental bonding leave for employees following the birth of an employee's child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

Full-time co-workers are eligible for LTD benefits, which provides income to a co-worker who is unable to work for an extended period of time due to total disability.
Co-worker Support & Well-Being

Co-Worker Support Services

SupportLinc’s services are available to all co-workers and household members and provide 24/7 free and confidential access to a variety of mental health and well-being services and resources. We also offer resources such as smoking cessation, flu shots, Weight Watchers, and quarterly well-being incentives.

Educational Assistance Program

Ameren pays up to Federal IRS guidelines of $5,250 for full-time co-workers and $2,625 for part-time co-workers per calendar year of co-worker's tuition and some fees for approved accredited degree programs, up to and including the master's degree level. Courses related to a co-worker's current or future role at Ameren may be considered for reimbursement. A reimbursement is issued upon the receipt of final grades at the end of the term.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

Each ERG, made up of groups of co-workers who share common interests or backgrounds, commits to a mission and annual strategic business plan that identifies how the ERG will support Ameren’s business goals and objectives, participate in community outreach and educate and engage co-workers.

Learning & Mentoring

We value and promote ongoing learning and encourage co-workers to look for opportunities to grow in their personal and professional development. We offer workshops and learning experiences that build professional and leadership skills, business acumen and industry knowledge. Our Ameren Mentoring & Connection Community empowers all co-workers to seek out informal connections for knowledge sharing and formal mentoring relationships.
Incentives, Savings, Retirement & Stock

Annual Short-Term Incentive

The Ameren Short-Term Incentive Plan is intended to reward eligible employees for their contributions to Ameren’s success.

Retirement Plan – 401(k)

Most regular co-workers are eligible to participate in Ameren’s 401(k) plan benefits immediately upon employment. A co-worker can choose from a variety of investment funds, offering varying levels of risk. An employee’s elected percentage is invested into their account on a pre-tax or after-tax basis. Co-workers receive a company match on contributions.

Retirement Plan – Pension

The Ameren Retirement Plan helps provide a solid foundation of retirement income for co-workers. This is a 100% employer-funded plan and requires no co-worker contributions to participate. Co-workers are 100% vested in their account balances after completing three years of service with Ameren.

Stock Purchase Plan (DRPlus)

Ameren offers a stock purchase plan called DRPlus to all co-workers. The DRPlus Plan provides a convenient means of purchasing shares of Ameren Corporation Common Stock (ticker symbol: AEE), without the payment of any brokerage commissions or service charges. The DRPlus Plan is entirely voluntary, and the co-worker can begin or terminate participation at any time.
Giving Back to the Communities We Serve
Our Corporate Contributions and Community Initiatives programs work to connect our co-workers with their local communities to support nonprofit organizations making proven impacts and to care for our customers. Our co-workers spend thousands of hours volunteering. We support their skills-based volunteerism through Matching Gifts and Dollars for Doers programs.
