Millcreek facility advances with safety at the forefront
Millcreek will store energy for peak demand, with safety, local coordination and first responder training guiding development.
The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved Ameren Missouri’s plans for the Millcreek battery energy storage system in Lincoln County. Ameren Missouri has worked closely with local emergency managers as well as community members to discuss ongoing questions and address feedback about the project.
How we'll build it:
- Design, build and run Millcreek to meet state and federal safety standards.
- Work alongside and train local first responders, at our expense, before the site opens.
- Keep state, county and local officials updated on design, safety and construction.
Reliable energy when customers need it
The Millcreek project will store energy and deliver it to the electric grid when customers need it most, including during extreme heat, cold and other periods of high energy use.
What happens next
The project now moves into its next stages of planning and construction. Construction is expected to begin next month, with the Millcreek project targeted to be in service in 2028.
