Jason Klein

Jason has been with the company for nearly 30 years. In his previous role as senior director of distribution operations, he was instrumental in the planning, engineering, and design of grid improvements that have enabled Ameren Illinois to improve reliability, reduce outages, and boost customer satisfaction. He also served as the company's incident commander during multiple large storm restoration efforts. His leadership as a division director played a role in Ameren Illinois being awarded the Emergency Response Award from the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) for safely restoring power to nearly 200,000 customers following the June 2023 Derecho.

Jason graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He began his career as an engineering representative designing electric and natural gas distribution lines. He progressed through various engineering and operations roles including division director of two different Ameren Illinois operating regions. Jason is the Chair of the EEI Workforce Dynamics Committee, member of the EPRI Distribution Council and board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois.

Jason is married and has two adult children. He and his family reside in southwestern Illinois.
