Yes. All Ameren Illinois residential and business accounts meeting the eligibility requirements below can be used for this service.















Eligibility















To register a device to the Ameren Illinois smart meter, you must have:

	An active Ameren Illinois service account
	A compatible smart electric meter. For a list of compatible meters, see the chart What meters work with Home Area Network smart devices? under our About Home Area Network section.
	A device compatible with the smart meter: ZigBee Smart Energy Profile (SEP) 1.1 enabled Smart Devices

Once a device is securely connected to the Ameren Illinois smart meter, it may enable you to:

	View real-time energy usage information, such as kilowatt hours (kWh) and kilowatts (kW) demand.
	See how small changes in energy usage behavior, such as raising the temperature on your air conditioner or turning off lights can lower your energy usage and potentially your monthly electricity bill.

Please note that the device will not be able to receive any information from the smart meter unless it has been securely connected.

An energy information display used in the home or business can show energy-related information in real-time. The type of information displayed depends on what usage information is available with Ameren Illinois. Our customer may be able to see usage information on Home Area Network display units.
