Ameren Illinois rates include two core components - supply and delivery.
The supply component covers the actual cost of power and energy procured by Ameren unless an alternate supplier has been chosen. Ameren Illinois does not mark up energy supply charges.
The delivery component covers the company’s cost of bringing electricity to the customer, regardless of who supplies the energy. This component includes the cost to construct and maintain the delivery system to get electricity from the supplier to the customer.
